In a ceremony on Saturday, April 30, 2016, over 500 Fort Lewis College graduates and their families packed Whalen Gymnasium for Spring Commencement. The speaker chosen to offer the Commencement Address was Colorado's Lieutenant Governor, Joseph Garcia.

Over 450 students were named to Fort Lewis College's Dean's List for the Spring 2016 semester. These students took at least 15 credits of gradable hours and achieved a 3.60 or higher grade point average.

The Fort Lewis College School of Arts and Sciences held its annual Undergraduate Research & Creative Activities Symposium on Thursday, April 21, 2016. Student participants were selected by their departments to represent the best undergraduate research and performances done at Fort Lewis College this year, either in oral or poster presentations.

FLC held elections on April 4-6, 2016 to elect student government representatives for the Associated Students of Fort Lewis College. The ASFLC respectfully advocates for a student-centered agenda promoting general well-being, effective communication, informed leadership, and efficient use of student resources.

Local students were named to the 2016 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field All-Academic Honor Roll.

Friday, April 29 marks the second annual "Celebration of Academic Achievement", where departments choose one Outstanding Student from each major who exemplifies success in the field of study.

Over 400 students were named to Fort Lewis College's Dean's List for the Fall 2015 semester. These students took at least 15 credits of gradable hours and achieved a 3.60 or higher grade point average.

Local students were named to the 2015 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Cross Country All-Academic Team. To qualify for First Team All-Academic consideration, a student-athlete must carry a 3.30 cumulative grade point average and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters. All players who were not voted to the first Team All-Academic were automatically qualified for the All-Academic Honor Roll.

Chadron State College has announced that 387 students met requirements for the fall 2015 dean's list by earning at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Students must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours of coursework during the semester to qualify.

Admission ambassadors play a key role in the Office of Admission's recruitment efforts by professionally and authentically representing Fort Lewis College to prospective students, their parents and family, the high school and community college guidance community, as well as visitors to the Durango area. Ambassadors are chosen through a rigorous application and interview process and are selected based on their campus involvement, academic success, and enthusiasm for Fort Lewis College.

Faculty from Chemistry, Biology, and the MARC U*STAR program attended the SACNAS (Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science) National Convention in Washington D.C. with 33 Fort Lewis College students studying the STEM disciplines.
